Who is Neha?

 

Neha Chemmanoor is a dancer, choreographer, fashion model, YouTuber, and aspiring actress. Neha was born with a passion for dancing before she could even walk, she would move her hands to the sound of music. Neha strives to do the best of her ability in all her work. Neha quotes "My mother used to say that I wouldn’t eat food unless I heard my favorite song." Neha started training in dance at the age of 3 under Nritya Kala Kendra. Bharathanatyam was the first dance form Neha ever learned. At the age of 4, Neha's mother signed her up for Bollywood dance classes. Neha fell in love with both Bollywood and Bharatnatyam that she could not choose between one form and would create dances incorporating both dance forms. From there, Neha was trained in numerous other dance forms, even western. Neha has been trained in Kathak, Hip-Hop, Contemporary, Jazz, Afro-dance hall, Bhangra, and Ballet. Though Neha has learned so many western dances, her love for bharathanatyam is the most. Neha quotes "I love the grace, expressions, and effort I put on stage while dancing Bharathanatyam. I  have taken part in any opportunity I could get to dance on stage."  Neha has won many competitions in Canada as the best dancer. When Neha wanted a way to showcase her dance to people around the world she decided to make a YouTube channel. On Neha's channel “Neha Chemmanoor” she posts dance videos, choreography, day-in-the-life videos, and fun entertaining videos for her viewers. Neha is the lead choreographer of an Indian dance team in Toronto.

Neha is a passionate and confident model. At a young age, she was part of a modeling Tv show on Kairali Tv India. Neha was also a part of a modeling agency in Canada where she has had many opportunities for portraits and ads. Neha has modeled for jewelry ads, fashion ads, and freelance portraits. Neha quotes "I am really passionate about posing for camera's and I never lack confidence in doing so. Put a camera in front of me and you will see magic." Neha has been published in the New York "Mugham" Magazine 2021.

Neha's passion doesn't stop here. Her love of being expressive in dances has led her to an interest in acting. Neha's dream is to become an actress in the south-Indian film industry. Neha says" I will continue to work my hardest to achieve my goals, I am confident of fulfilling them."

How does Neha deal with negativity? 

 

Negativity is needed in everyone's life just like positivity. It is a way to grow and only when you fail, you learn and become more successful. The best way to deal with negativity is to calmly listen and ignore. I thank God for blessing me with talents that I believe should never be put down. When people ask me why I waste my time doing things that don't give me a steady income, I always tell them this, what is a world without art? What is a world without entertainment? When engineers, doctors, lawyers, etc come home to relax, they watch tv and go on their phones for entertainment. Without artists, there is no entertainment, and without entertainment, life is boring and stressful. Not everyone can be an artist. An artist is born an artist, it is a god-given talent and so it should never be put down but always praised.
